Creamy Mustard Sauce

The Creamy Mustard Sauce is especially delicious with baked ham, meatloaf, fish and seafood. You could also use as a dip with potato or tortilla chips.

The sauce can also be served with baked or boiled potatoes, boiled or steamed vegetables like broccoli, peas or cauliflower.

INGREDIENTS:
1 egg
1 Tbl dry mustard
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp butter
1/4 tsp salt
2 Tbl vinegar
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped


In top part of double boiler, beat egg, mustard, sugar, butter, salt and vinegar.

Set top part of double boiler over simmering water. Cook for 2-3 minutes, beating with a whisk until mixture thickens. Remove from heat. Cool to room temperature.

Beat in mayonnaise. Fold in Whipped cream. Cover and refrigerate until needed. Sprinkle with parsley or chives before serving.

Sauce can be served at room temperature or chilled.
